Magnetic Resonance Imaging — MRI
The Sports Medicine Clinic offers one of the newest innovations in magnetic resonance imaging. The OrthOne® Extremity MRI offers an easy, non-claustrophobic, totally open environment for MRI scans of elbows, wrists, hands, knees, ankles and feet.
On average, 25% of MRI tests are for extremities and don’t require imaging in a whole-body MRI. The OrthOne allows patients to sit comfortably in a reclining chair while only the affected part of the body is placed in the scanner.
The OrthOne provides higher clarity and accuracy of images than other open MRI systems. It is much quieter than traditional MRI and is also quicker with exam times averaging only 30 minutes.
Physician referral is required for an extremity MRI. To schedule an appointment at the Sports Medicine Clinic, please call the North Seattle office at 206-368-6100, or the Ballard office at 206-782-3383.
