In April 2010, the Washington Podiatric Medical Association named Dr. Edward Blahous as the recipient of the Podiatric Physician of the Year award. The recognition is presented to a physician who has made substantial contributions to advancing the profession of podiatric medicine in Washington.

Dr. Blahous is a board-certified podiatric surgeon. He earned his medical degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, CA, completed his residency in podiatry/podiatric surgery at Waldo General Hospital in Seattle, and took a fellowship in sports medicine at Virginia Mason in Seattle. He is chairman of the board of the North Seattle Surgery Center, and a member of the residency training committee and the Northwest Podiatric Surgical Residency Program at Swedish/Providence Medical Center. He is a consulting physician for Seattle Pacific University athletics and a podiatric consultant for the Seattle Mariners.

The Sports Medicine Clinic features a roster of highly skilled physicians who have been recognized in their areas of expertise, including Dr. Richard Bouche and Dr. Brian McInnes who earned the Podiatric Physician of the Year distinction in 2006 and 2007, respectively.
